  The Curriculum

The curriculum for the present course provides successful completers with the ability to plan and execute the coordinated use of the model technologies in securing their port from underwater threats. Specific skill and knowledge development includes side scan/multibeam operation and interpretation, magnetometer use and interpretation, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) use and interpretation, determination of diving requirements, large vessel lock out- tag out procedures, and diving safety protocols. Qualified divers also will perform hull, underwater structure and bottom search and identification dives. All skill and knowledge requirements are addressed in classroom sessions followed by practical, hands-on applications in an actual port environment.
